A Letter from St. Mark's Lutheran Church to Its Members:

November 2009

Dear Family of Saint Mark's:

We are writing at this time to inform you of a change that has recently occurred at St. Mark's. At its November meeting, the Church Council voted unanimously to terminate our congregation's relationship with the German Church in Charlotte. Though for many years this ministry to the German community in Charlotte has utilized our facility, the internal issues within the German Church were affecting the St. Mark's staff and some of our members. Though not our first choice, this resolution became necessary and was approved after lengthy discussion and prayer by the Council.

After a discussion of the issues between our leadership and the Steering Committee of the German Church in Charlotte it was mutually agreed that a new site and a fresh start would be in the best interests of everyone involved. We have all parted amicably and we wish them well in their new endeavors.

St. Mark's remains committed to serving the greater German community in Charlotte. Please keep our church family, and the German community, in prayer as we seek God's leadership in our efforts.

In Christ's service with you,

Michael Dixon, President
Peter Brown, Pastor
